was a time in Oregon when the youngest victims of physical and
sexual abuse had nowhere to go to get the help they needed.
For these children, summoning the courage to tell someone about
their abuse was only the first step in a long journey. They
often had to retell their very personal experience too many
times - to police officers, social workers, health care
providers, attorneys and others - all of whom were working
independently in their efforts to help the child. Instead of
helping, this system sometimes added to the emotional pain.
That was then. CARES Northwest is now. CARES Northwest is a
