Kids Preventing Child Abuse (KPCA) is a child abuse prevention program of CARES Northwest. KPCA educates babysitting-age youth and young parents about Shaken Baby Syndrome, domestic and dating violence, and drug and alcohol affects on babies. Physicians, nurses and counselors teach the free class. Generously funded by several Oregon foundations.

Shaken Baby Syndrome 101: An advanced Shaken Baby Syndrome(SBS) prevention program for medical professionals, college students and high school students in upper level science or health programs. SBS 101 includes research on infant crying patterns and the basic medical aspects of Shaken Baby Syndrome.

KPCA Train the Trainer: Programs provide professionals with instruction and module materials to teach KPCA in their communities, all at no cost to participants.
